Overview
Commonly, healthcare systems respond to pressing issues reactively. In Value in Health’s latest policy paper, “Signals of Change: Horizon Scanning for Saudi Arabia’s Health System,” we propose the wider adoption of horizon scanning, an approach designed to identify early signals of change and trends that may influence the future health landscape. By leveraging global foresight models and adapting them to the national context, we should be better able to navigate future challenges and capitalize on opportunities. This paper identifies three key signals with the potential to reshape how value is delivered in healthcare in Saudi Arabia, and advocates for a proactive, adaptive, and equitable health system.
