Value in Health Network

The value in health Network (“the Network”) is a group of organizations that share the common goal to enable the health system in Saudi Arabia to deliver superior value.

The Network, currently consisting of seven Saudi national healthcare organizations , is founded in August 2023 and will be launched in October 2023. Its first joint initiative is the conference Here and now: Accelerating transformation to a high-value health sector in Saudi Arabia scheduled to take place on December 11 and 12, 2023.

Objectives and scope

The health system in Saudi Arabia is currently undergoing extensive transformation as part of the Vision 2030 national program. This transformation, underpinned by the principles of value-based healthcare, seeks a comprehensive, effective and integrated system that delivers better health for individuals and society.Numerous organizations in Saudi Arabia support the health system transformation in different ways through their work. There is now an opportunity for organizations committed to the principles of value-based healthcare to come together to enable the delivery of superior health system value.Through the Value in health Network, these organizations will pursue this goal by establishing high-impact, joint initiatives to improve health system value that would otherwise be challenging for any one partner to accomplish alone. Individual initiatives may entail:
• Sharing knowledge and expertise.
• Interconnecting transformation initiatives via connecting teams with each other.
• Pooling resources and efforts.
• Communicating a unified voice to stakeholders.
The first action for the newly-constituted Network will be to establish an annual Work Program to describe the specific initiatives to be conducted. This Work Program is expected to include:• Convening events and programs that promote the development of a country-specific approach to value-based healthcare.
• Identifying and sharing best practices in value-based healthcare.
• Developing tools and resources to help healthcare organizations measure and optimize the value of their services and interventions.
• Advocating for policies and practices that support the delivery of value-based healthcare.
• Creating a collaborative and supportive learning community that will enable members to work together to address common challenges in improving value-based healthcare.Priority will be given to high-impact initiatives that leverage the specific expertise and assets of members and where providing a unified approach will be most beneficial to the health system.

The Value in Health Network aims to generate substantial benefits both to its members and to the health system.Working through the Network should enable members to deliver greater impact together than individual organizations could achieve on their own. The Network can expect to achieve:
• Better stakeholder engagement from higher-profile, more focused and unified communications.
• More effective use of individual organization’s attention and resources through collaborative, interconnected, and non-duplicative initiatives.
• More impactful insights and activities, leveraging the knowledge and expertise of each organization in a supportive learning community.Policymakers and practitioners will benefit greatly from the results of the Network Program of Work. By using the Network products, engaging with its recommendations, and participating in its events, stakeholders in the health system will be clearer on their required contribution to achieving a high-value health system in Saudi Arabia.
