Why we're focusing on measuring value
All health systems require effective measurement of system value – the outcomes achieved and the resources used – if they are to demonstrate that they deliver high value.
Saudi Arabia’s health system is currently undergoing significant transformation and improvement. There is a need to ensure we can accurately, credibly and comprehensively measure the value that the health system generates as it evolves.
Presently, many entities in the Saudi health system have an interest in outcome and cost measurement. In 2020, Value in health commenced a multi-year program of work to understand how health system value measurement is changing in Saudi Arabia and to shape the future measurement structures and systems that will be needed.
